This cacao place is pure gold. Such friendly owner and her passion to explain everything to us about her cacao products. Here is everything self made, even peanut butter with cacao and honey. We spend some time there, listened to her excitement about her own products and enjoyed to know, that everything she sells / produces comes from her own family. Cacao comes from the south of Oaxaca. We had a craving for cocoa drink, and we found this cafe in Google. Could this be the best cocoa cafe in Oaxaca? Yes, we believe so. This is a 4th generation cocoa manufacturer/shop, and the great- grand daughter took the time to explain all the variety of cocoa manufacturing process to us. She let us try many samples, and even offered cocoa Mezcal drink! After sampling all the variety of cocoa, we decided to opt for hot white cocoa (cacao, macadamia nut, and cocoa flower) with milk. The hot cocoa con leche was out of this world. It has that pure nutty, robust cocoa flavor with sweet white foam that made my toes curl up. We tried over 10 cocoa drinks in a variety of cafes, and this is by far the best and original cocoa cafe we found. We highly recommend this cafe to anyone visiting Oaxaca. Update, we came back for the 3rd time. Incredible flavor.

On the way to find the best authentic & homemade chocolate in Oaxaca, we got a secret tip by a local friend and ended up at Corazón De Cacao. From the outside the shop looks very inconspicuous, but inside there is a dream of the most delicious Mexican chocolate including free tasting of all types waiting for you. The offered chocolate is produced and sold as family business. We took two full bags of chocolate bars and beans with us, so we can share this authentic taste experience with friends and family. For chocolate lovers or Oaxaca-visitors who are looking for traditional gifts, this shop is an absolute must-go to!

Delicious! Best chocolate experience I’ve ever had. They have 9 different chocolates for you to sample and very good chocolate drinks. They roast and make all their own chocolates. Multigenerational family business. Very knowledgeable. Will be going back every time I return to Oaxaca!
